Izah Hankammer
Izah Hankammer is a Filipino-German dancer, actress, and maker. In 2020, she graduated in Contemporary Dance from Fontys Academy of the Arts, and received the Jacques de Leeuw Award. During her studies, she took part in various projects in Germany, Australia, Italy, and the Netherlands, where she began her collaboration with United Cowboys. She went on to dance with Meyer-Chaffaud Dance Company and, during this period, started creating her own work together with Lucas Devroe under the name moOv. They became part of Makershuis Tilburg and conducted a research trajectory within DansBrabant.
In 2021, she started working with Action Zoo Humain as a performer in Flemish Xperience (2021), Flemish Primitives (2022), The Truth Commission Netherlands (2023), and as movement coach for Persians. Triumph of Empathy (2024). Alongside her dance work, she has also acted in several film and video projects, including Doll House (Netflix/Marla Ancheta, 2022), Als Uw Gat Maar Lacht (De Productie/Dick Verdult, 2023), and Opaque (Head Under Water).
In 2025, she created THE TIME IT TAKES {nomadic}, a series of short performances in various locations. These performances are part of her artistic research into how the human body can function as a motor of resistance. From this transformative force, she explores the political, cultural, and social dimensions of time and rhythm that shape our contemporary world. Her artistic research is situated within Inter:Action, the new maker’s trajectory of Action Zoo Humain.
