NTGent & Action Zoo Humain zoeken jonge hedendaagse dansers (m/v/x) met acrobatie, contortionisme, contemporary of breakdance-skills voor ‘Perzen’ geregisseerd door Chokri Ben Chikha. 

In 'Perzen. The Triumph of Empathy’ onderzoekt regisseur Chokri Ben Chikha het empathisch vermogen van vijf diverse performers. Slagen ze erin om door de bril van een Griekse tragedie anders te kijken naar een gepolariseerde hedendaagse warzone? Onder zijn leiding kijken de performers huidige conflictgebieden door de lens van het oudste stuk uit de theatercanon: De Perzen van Aeschylus.

Wie wij zoeken

• Leeftijd: tussen 18 en 35 jaar
• Professioneel danser en/of performer met acrobatie, contortionisme, contemporary of breakdance-skills
• Achtergrond: Perzisch, Arabische en/of Joods
• Beschikbaar voor repetities vanaf 1 mei t/m 23 juni 2024 en voor een bijkomende nog in te roosteren twee weken tussen februari en maart 2024
• Flexibel om in seizoen ‘24-25 (herfst/winter) mee op internationale tournee te gaan

NTGent & Action Zoo Humain are looking for young contemporary dancers (m/f/x) with acrobatics, contortionism, contemporary or breakdance skills for 'Persians' directed by Chokri Ben Chikha.

In 'Persians. The Triumph of Empathy' director Chokri Ben Chikha explores the emphatic ability of five different performers. Do they manage to look differently at a polarized contemporary warzone through the lens of a Greek tragedy? Under his guidance, the performers look at today’s conflict zones through the lens of the oldest play in the theatre canon: The Persians by Aeschylus.

Who we are looking for

• Age: between the ages of 18 and 35
• Professional dancer and/or performer with acrobatics, contortionism, contemporary or breakdance skills
• Background: Persian, Arab and/or Jewish
• Available for rehearsals from May 1st to June 23rd 2024 and for an additional two weeks (still to be scheduled) between February and March 2024
• Flexible to join the international tour in 2024-25 (autumn-winter)
